English Delft polychrome tankard, unsigned. This 9½” tankard sports a four-color design of stylized flowers and urns, a hinged pewter cover having a shell-form thumb tab and a green dot-dash design on the handle. The tankard is in very good condition, with a small, hard-to-see hairline radiating up from the bottom, the expected wear to the rim below the cover and flakes to the base rim glaze. 18th century.

Comb-Back Windsor Rocker

Comb-back Windsor rocker, Stephen Tracy. The chair sports an old refinish with traces of old paint and a nicely shaped chestnut seat. It is signed underneath, “S. Tracy”. Stephen Tracy was a nephew of Ebenezer Tracy, the prolific Connecticut chairmaker. The chair is in good condition, with an old repair to the center rail and some minor inactive worm damage under the seat. Circa 1800-1820, CT or NH.

Portraits of Sea Captain and his Wife - Lamont

Pair of portraits of a sea captain and his wife, o/c, unsigned. The captain is shown holding a spyglass. His wife is holding a bouquet of flowers. Behind her are flowers in a window box and a window looking out at mountains in the background.

A brass plaque affixed to one frame attributes the portraits to George Kennedy, (1818-1870), but experts who have subsequently examined the portraits have attributed them instead to Daniel G. Lamont, (1817-1883). The portraits are in good condition with some repair. Mid-19th century.

Naïve portrait of a boy and girl. The children are dressed in brightly colored clothing. The boy is holding a whip and the girl is holding a doll in one hand and the doll’s bonnet in the other. The portrait is very attractively framed and is in very good condition, marred only by some spotting near the boy’s hat. Mid-19th century, American School.

Decorated Pantry Box

Decorated oval pantry box, maple. The box sports a fingered lid with a pinwheel decoration surrounded by a ring of half-circles. The inside of the lid has a penned inscription that includes the name, “Phebe Connor (?)”and the date, “March 2, 1828”. The box is in very good condition, with minor damage to the lid.
