Paint decorated hanging candle box. This dovetailed box has a lift top, a single drawer with four compartments, and the original mustard and red paint. It is in good condition, but missing the drawer pull. 19th century, New England.

It would appear that the pole was perhaps made from an earlier post of some kind. It is in good condition with a chip out of the top of the striped portion as well as wear commensurate with age.
