Salmon painted cupboard, pine. The cupboard sports original salmon paint with old black paint on the interior, and an attractive cornice. The desk has a hinged lid opening onto an attractive interior with drawers and cubbies, above four graduated drawers and a scrolled apron, all with very strong tiger striping and a warm old finish. The table sports old red paint over traces of original red, a round two-board pegged top joined with spline and supported by a sliding dovetailed cleat, slender vase-form splayed legs with early turnings, a box stretcher base with beaded top and bottom edges, and ball feet. It is in very good condition, considering its age, with wear to the paint, some losses to the feet and minor damage to the top. Early 18th century, possibly Southern U.S.
