William & Mary tavern table, yellow pine. The table sports old red paint over traces of original red, a round two-board pegged top joined with spline and supported by a sliding dovetailed cleat, slender vase-form splayed legs with early turnings, a box stretcher base with beaded top and bottom edges, and ball feet. It is in very good condition, considering its age, with wear to the paint, some losses to the feet and minor damage to the top. Early 18th century, possibly Southern U.S.
