Sheraton paint decorated night stand. The stand sports an original faux grain painted surface to simulate tiger maple, a shaped gallery with scrolled ears to the back and sides, a single dovetailed drawer, and turned legs joined by a single shelf. It is in very good condition, structurally sound and exhibiting only the wear associated with its age and usage. First half of the 19th century, Pennsylvania.

An unusual feature of this desk is a very clever, perhaps unique, hiding place built into the rear of the center cubby, with a false dovetailed back that can be removed to reveal three small drawers. The desk is in very good condition, with replaced brasses and with wear and tear consistent with its age and usage. Mid-18th century, New England.
