Federal tilt-top candlestand with inlay, mahogany. The candlestand sports an oval top, a ring-turned post, and squared cabriole legs ending in spade feet. It is further enhanced with string inlay on the legs and the edge of the top. The candlestand is in good condition, but with a replaced brass catch and a small shrinkage crack in the post. Early 19th century, New England.

Federal carved mahogany lolling chair. The chair sports square tapered legs with string inlay and middle and rear stretchers. It is upholstered with the most beautiful, three-dimensional crewel work floral fabric in near pristine condition, with a single inconspicuous stain in the seat upholstery adjacent to the proper right arm. The chair has an old finish with attractive patina and is in good condition structurally, with old repairs to both arms and arm supports. Circa 1800, New England.

Queen Anne Highboy

Queen Anne two-part highboy, maple. The upper case sports an applied cornice molding over an arrangement of drawers, on a base with a complimenting arrangement of drawers supported by cabriole legs and pad feet. The highboy has an old mellow finish with a warm color and retains its original brasses. It is in good condition, with missing drops under the apron, some shrinkage separation on the side panels, and the expected wear and tear from age and usage. The damaged drawer lip seen on the bottom drawer of the upper section in the photos has now been repaired. 18th century, New England.

Provenance: Kenneth Rush, Ambassador to West Germany and later to France, as well as serving in other government positions, such as Deputy Secretary of Defense and Deputy Secretary of State.
