Decorated oval pantry box, maple. The box sports a fingered lid with a pinwheel decoration surrounded by a ring of half-circles. The inside of the lid has a penned inscription that includes the name, “Phebe Connor (?)”and the date, “March 2, 1828”. The box is in very good condition, with a minor repair to the lid.

Barn Lantern

Early barn lantern. The lantern sports old black paint, with a domed roof, a bail handle, paneled glass sides, a hinged door and an 8” diameter convex mercury glass reflector. The lantern is in very good condition with some rust and pitting as might be expected from age and usage. The glass panels appear to be original. The fuel pan or handle holder is missing. 19th century, possibly Pennsylvania.

The desk is in very good condition, marred only by a very slight warpage of the lid and minor wear and tear from age and usage. Late 18th century, probably New England.

The overall visual expression is striking. The basket is in very good condition with some minor breaks in the lid. It is a wonderful example of Native American art, sure to be a conversation piece.
