The chest sports a molded top over two short drawers and five graduated long drawers with beautiful figuring, reeded quarter columns, attractive line inlay, and an ogee bracket base. It is a very nice size with nice proportions and is constructed with rose-headed nails. The brasses appear to be original. The chest is in very good condition, with minor repairs to two feet and the expected wear and tear from age and usage. Circa 1800, Ohio.

4-Gal Decorated Stoneware Jug

Four-gallon decorated stoneware jug. The jug sports a stylized floral design and is stamped, “H. Almy/No. 21 Dyer. St. Prov. RI” and the number “4”. Similar pieces of stoneware have been attributed to the Somerset Pottery operating in Somerset, MA. The jug is in very good condition, save for a small hole drilled in the side, probably to convert it to a lamp at some time in its history, and a few chips around the spout. Circa 1870, probably Massachusetts.
