Painted stand-up schoolmaster’s desk, pine. This two-piece desk has an upper case with a hinged slant lid and an open interior well, raised on a separate stand with a single full drawer, chamfered legs and a stretcher base. It retains the original Spanish brown paint, with original brasses and original hand-wrought iron hinges. The desk is in very good condition, with the expected wear and tear from age and usage. Circa 1800, New England.
