Queen Anne tiger maple slant-front desk. The desk sports strong tiger graining, an attractive interior with five small drawers and nine cubbies, and a bracket base. An unusual feature of this desk is a very clever, perhaps unique, hiding place built into the rear of the center cubby, with a false dovetailed back that can be removed to reveal three small drawers. The desk is in very good condition, with replaced brasses and with wear and tear consistent with its age and usage. Mid-18th century, New England.
