Shenandoah Valley Pie Safe

Shenandoah Valley Pie Safe, walnut and punched tin. The pie safe sports a pinned mortice and tenon case, two paneled doors fitted with three punched tins each, opening onto an interior with three shelves with three punched tins to either paneled side, raised on tall turned legs. The twelve punched tins have opposing horizontal semi-elliptical elements with circular terminals and stylized fleur-de-lis, each with quarter fans to the corners. The pie safe is in excellent untouched condition, structurally sound, and with a dry old surface. Circa 1840, probably Rockingham County, VA.
