An early Native American burl bowl. This large Northeast Woodlands bowl has two open handles, a wonderful oblong shape and beautiful burl figuring. It was found in the Hudson Valley and probably dates from the 18th century. We have owned it for many years and are only now offering it for sale. The bowl is in fair condition, with repairs to the bottom and one side; not surprising given its age.. 18th century, New York State.
