Rare primitive workbench, pine. The workbench sports a single board top, Hepplewhite tapered legs, a base with original red paint and a small screw clamp on one end with a crimped nail serving as a means for turning it. It is sturdy and in good condition, with old make-do iron braces added to two legs and the expected wear and tear on the top from age and usage. Makes a great server. Early 19th century, American.

Painted hutch table, pine and maple. The table sports a scrubbed square top with breadboard ends and remnants of salmon paint. The base retains an old salmon surface. Pilgrim Century Blanket Chest

A hard-to-find Pilgrim Century carved pine blanket chest. The front of the chest is scratched carved with upside-down hearts and the initials, “DS” inside geometric patterns. The front panel sports linen folds and the edges of the panel are chip carved. The chest is in good condition, with a natural old attic finish. There are repairs to the backboard along the hinge side of the lid and patches to the front panel and the lid where the lock was. Circa 1700, Massachusetts.

18th Century Tavern Table w/Drop Leaf

Rare early stretcher-base tavern table with make-do leaf. The table has a cherry top and a pine leaf. We believe the table was converted to a drop-leaf table circa 1850. At that time, the cherry top was added and the original pine top was converted to a leaf, supported by pulling out a legged support. The table has great finish and patina and old red paint on the base. An interesting and practical make-do table. 18th century, Deerfield, MA.

Leaping Stag Weathervane

Leaping stag weathervane, copper with cast antlers. The weathervane has a very attractive patina with a textured surface and remnants of verdigris and gilt. It is in very good condition, with one repaired bullet hole. The stand is new. Late 19th century, probably made by Cushing & White, Waltham, MA.

Checkerboard Block Quilt

Pieced checkerboard block quilt, cotton. The quilt sports turkey red and white checkerboard blocks set on point with sashing of pale blue floral calico and a plain white backing. The fine quilting features a different design in each of the plain white squares in the checkerboard blocks. The quilt has very good crisp, bright colors, but with scattered brown stains and wear consistent with age and use. A laundry tag stitched to the back of the quilt reads, “Sarah A. Morrow”. Circa 1840-1850.
