Four-gallon cobalt decorated stoneware crock. The crock has an unusual decoration of a bird with an insect in its mouth. It is stamped, “N. Clark, JR/ Athens, NY” along with the number “4”. The crock is in very good condition, with no cracks or chips. N. Clark Jr. was in business from 1843-1891.

Painted Tall Chest

18th century tall chest, maple. The chest sports a rich old stain, an applied molded top, six graduated drawers with old and likely original brasses, and a bold bracket base. The secondary wood is chestnut. The chest is in good condition, with shrinkage separations, minor lip loss to the lower drawer and wear commensurate with age. Circa 1780, Rhode Island.

Early Country Hutch Table

The table sports a round, three-board top, with beautiful patina, and a beautifully shaped base in old red paint supported by pad feet. “Slippers” have been added to the feet to raise the height of the table. These can easily be removed if desired. The table is a nice small size and is in very good condition, with some repairs to the base. Circa 1770, Hudson Valley or Long Island, NY.

Stoneware Crock - Weston & Gregg

One and a half gallon cobalt decorated stoneware crock. The crock is decorated with a highly stylized bird on a branch and is stamped “Weston & Gregg/Ellenville, NY”. Curiously, this 1.5 gallon crock is stamped with a “6”, which must refer to six quarts. Weston & Gregg were only in business for two years, (1869-1870). The crock is in very good condition, but with staining and an age line. Circa 1870, New York.

Painted Sawbuck Table

Sawbuck table in original red paint. The table sports a scrubbed single-board pine top with breadboard ends and a beautiful old patina, and a trough beneath the top. It is constructed with hand-forged “T” nails and has the best surface and proportions. The table is in good condition with a repair to strengthen the legs, and with age cracks and stains on the top from age and usage. Late 18th century.

Federal Quilt w/Trapunto

A beautiful white Federal quilt with trapunto work. The center of the quilt has a flowering urn. The scrollwork border has cannons, eagles, hearts, theorem baskets and other American Federal motifs. The quilt is dated 1813 in the corners. It is in very good condition overall, but there is some staining and minor wear. Note: The main photo has been artificially darkened to highlight the decorations that appear on this quilt. The actual quilt is snow white as shown in all the close-up photos.
