18th Century Tavern Table w/Drop Leaf

220223

Rare early stretcher-base tavern table with make-do leaf. The table has a cherry top and a pine leaf. We believe the table was converted to a drop-leaf table circa 1850. At that time, the cherry top was added and the original pine top was converted to a leaf, supported by pulling out a legged support. The table has great finish and patina and old red paint on the base. An interesting and practical make-do table. 18th century, Deerfield, MA.

Dimensions: 41¼” wide x 49¼” long, (leaf raised), 25¾” long, (leaf lowered), x 29” high.
