Adam and Eve Sampler
Embroidered Adam and Eve sampler. This is a well-done sampler with a depiction of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, along with buildings, animals, people, (including pirates), birds, peacocks, etc. The needlepoint inscription at the top margin reads, “This I did to let you see what care my parents took of me, Sophia ------ her work aged 9 years.” There is no apparent date. The sampler is in good condition, having been professionally conserved, with some staining. It is framed under museum glass in a new frame. 19th century, American.

Polychromed Cast Iron Duck Garden Sprinkler
Polychromed cast iron garden sprinkler. The sprinkler is modeled after a Mallard duck and is fitted with its original heart-shaped sprinkler head and hose connector to the tail. It retains an old polychromed surface, with oxidation, pitting and rusting to the metalwork as expected from age and usage. The sprinkler head appears to be complete but we cannot guarantee the functionality of this item. Early 20th century, American.

Painted Step-Back Cupboard
Painted step-back cupboard, pine. The cupboard sports old red paint, a large work counter and two doors below opening onto a storage area with a single shelf. (The left-hand door is probably a later modification and the shelf has been moved.) The cupboard is in good condition, ready to use, with only the expected wear and tear from age and usage. Early 19th century, New England.

Small banded yellowware jar with cover. Both the jar and cover are decorated with blue and white bands. The jar is in very good condition, but there are two small chips out of the cover. 19th century, Eastern U.S.

Painted country bench. The bench sports remnants of blue/gray and red paint and has a beautifully shaped bootjack base that is mortised into the top for greater stability. It is sturdy and in good condition. 19th century, probably New England.

"Adam and Eve" Sampler Dated 1819
Unusual needlework sampler with Adam & Eve motif. The sampler reads, “Mis [sic] Elizabeth Smith is my nam [sic] Roxborough is my station heven [sic] is my dwelling Place and christ is my salvation and when I am dead and In my grave my bones are their [sic] a rotten and this you see to Remember Me when I am forgotten 1819”. Below the verse is Adam and Eve standing beside an apple tree with a snake coiled around the trunk holding an apple in its mouth. Lower panel has “Adam and Eve” and trees, a house, a dog a potted flowering plant and a bird on a grassy lawn. A flower and vine border frames the sampler along the sides.
The sampler is in good condition with some staining. It is housed in a contemporary frame under museum glass.

Queen Anne tilt-top candlestand, mahogany. The candlestand sports a shaped top and a turned post supported on cabriole legs ending in pad feet. It is in good condition with a very pleasing finish. Circa 1790-1800, New England.

Gamecock Weathervane
Full-body molded copper gamecock weathervane. The gamecock has sheet copper tail feathers and zinc feet and is standing on a directional arrow with a zinc head and a sheet copper tail. It has a wonderful form and a beautifully sculpted tail, with excellent verdigris with traces of gilding. The weathervane is in very good condition, marred only by one bullet hole and minor damage to the feathered tail of the arrow. Late 19th century, probably New England.
