Pennsylvania Punched Tin Coffee Pot

Punched tin coffee pot, 12½” high, unsigned. The pot features an overall floral decoration, with a soldered two-part body having an applied gooseneck spout, a reinforced handle, a hinged domed lid with a brass finial, and a flared foot. The pot is in fair to good condition, with oxidation, flaking to the patina and areas of resoldering. Early-mid 19th century, Pennsylvania.

Shoe-Footed Chair Table

Early shoe-footed chair table. The table sports a two-board scrubbed top, a base in old red paint with a lift-lid opening onto a storage well, and shoe feet decorated with early chip carving. (The feet have had slippers added to increase the table height, a common practice as generations of people grew taller.) This table was descended in the Van Der Bogert family of Woodstock, Ulster County, NY. It is in very good condition, displaying only the wear and tear associated with age and usage. The table was part of our collection for many years. 18th century, Hudson Valley, NY.

Fan-back Windsor armchair. The chair sports a beautiful color, a shaped crest rail over seven spindles, and a wide saddle seat raised on splayed legs joined by an H-form turned bulbous stretcher. Inscribed in pencil underneath: “N. Liverant, 1974, R. Byck, New Haven”. The chair is in very good condition, with an old repair to the crest rail. 18th century, probably CT.

An impressive oversized inlaid tall chest of drawers, walnut. The chest sports an applied inlaid cornice molding, three small drawers over five graduated drawers, all with line inlay and period brasses, an inlaid case front and a shaped apron on flared French feet. The chest is in very good condition, with an old refinish, minor abrasions, repaired cock beading on some drawers, and restoration/damage to the feet.

An unusual portrait of a boy and his dog, o/c, unsigned. The boy is wearing a dress and is pictured holding a fishing rod with a lure or a small fish at the end of the line. He is standing in front of a tree with a river and sailboats in the background. His dog is pictured biting down on the fishing line. Is he hoping to get the fish or is he just helping? The portrait is in very good condition, having been professionally conserved with very minor inpainting. The frame is custom made. Circa 1830-1840, New England.
