Pair of Portrait Miniatures
A pair of portrait miniatures of children, watercolor and ink on paper. The portraits are of a boy wearing a blue dress and white pantaloons, holding a whip with a begging dog by his side, and a girl in a blue dress holding a book. The portraits are nicely done in original frames and are in very good condition, with some minor staining. 19th century, American School.

Carved Eagle
Carved wooden eagle in the manner of Bellamy. The pieced and relief-carved eagle is carrying a banner in its talons inscribed “LIVE AND LET LIVE”. It is in good condition, nicely weathered with remnants of old paint and gilt. Late 19th or early 20th century, American.

Chippendale High Chest of Drawers
Chippendale high chest of drawers, maple. The chest sports an old red surface, with a dovetailed case, an applied molded top over six graduated drawers with original brasses, supported by a bold bracket base with attractive cutouts on the apron. The chest is in good condition, with minor repairs and wear commensurate with its age. Circa 1780, New England.

Full-body cow weathervane, copper and zinc. The weathervane shows good natural age with honest verdigris. It is in very good condition, with traces of old paint, marred only by some dents to the body. Circa 1900, American.

Portraits of a Man and Wife - Ammi Phillips
Portraits of a man and wife by Ammi Phillips, (1788-1865). The man is wearing a black jacket, white pleated shirt and a black stock with a large bow. He is holding a pamphlet entitled, “Minutes of the Baptist Missionary Convention”. His wife is wearing a multilayer embroidered and pleated bonnet with long ribbons, and a black dress with ballooned sleeves and a wide embroidered organdy collar. The paintings are both in good condition, unlined, with craquelure, stretcher marks and scattered areas of inpainting. They are presented in matching period gilt wood frames. Painted during Phillips’ “Kent Limner” period, the paintings date from circa 1829-1840, Kent, CT or Dover Plains, NY.
