Early open-top cupboard, pine. The cupboard has a beautiful scalloped opening and three shelves spaced wide apart for a nice display. Below is a raised panel door with “H” hinges attached with large hand-forged rose-headed nails. The cupboard sports a nice rich, warm color and is in good condition, with a repaired crack to the proper left side of the door and the expected degree of age-related wear. Circa 1750, New England.

Chippendale Cherry Corner Cupboard

Chippendale two-part corner cupboard, cherry and tulip poplar. The upper section sports a strong cove-molded cornice above a single door with sixteen glass panes; the top row having arched lights. The door opens to a light blue painted interior with shaped shelves and with spoon slots on the upper shelf. The lower section has two drawers above two raised paneled doors. The cupboard sits on a molded base raised on small ogee bracket feet. It is structurally sound and in overall good condition. The proper left foot has a small loss to the facing. Circa 1790-1800, Pennsylvania.
