Painted plant stand, poplar. The stand sports old blue paint, a tiered bowfront, three shelves and a lollipop finial. It is sturdy and usable for displays of stoneware, decoys, etc. as well as for plants. The stand is in very good condition, but with weathering, a missing front caster and the expected wear and tear from age and usage. Late 19th or early 20th century, found in Wayne County, Ohio.

Paint decorated slide-lid box, basswood. The box is polychrome painted on the lid and all four sides with Hudson Valley landscape scenes, including West Point, a sidewheeler, sailboats, canoes, people and houses. The box is in very good condition, but with a slight warp to the lid and some alligatored paint. 19th century, New York.

Portrait of a young girl, oil on panel, unsigned. This folk art portrait depicts a girl in a peach-colored dress and matching shoes, holding flowers and leaves in an outdoor setting. The portrait is framed in the original gold leaf frame and is in very good condition. Circa 1830-1840, American.

Blue & white Jacquard coverlet. The coverlet sports an intricate pattern of stars and vining roses and an unusual border of potted flowers. The corners are marked “1850”, with a spread-winged U.S. shield eagle clutching arrows and olive branches in its talons and “Darien Genesse Co., NY” below. Embroidered in one corner is “E.J. Kirk” and in smaller letters, “Alden”. The coverlet is in very good condition.

Hudson River landscape painting, oil on panel, unframed, signed “Redpath 1866”. The painting is in its original untouched condition and is in very good condition.

Ralph Redpath was a mid-19th-century American folk artist who was primarily active in New York State's Mohawk Valley and Hudson River Valley regions. He painted in a naive, early American folk art style. His work is frequently compared to the bold, stylized landscapes of Thomas Chambers. Redpath's landscapes frequently featured small details that repeated across different works. For instance, a signature motif includes a man wearing a hat and holding a walking stick, positioned to stare out at a body of water. : A piece identified as Redpath's work from the Garbisch Collection is preserved in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Art.

Early painted tall chest, pine. The chest sports old mustard paint over earlier red and black paints, an exceptionally beautiful cornice with dentil molding, three short drawers over five graduated full drawers, wide base molding and cyma curved feet with a center drop decoration and exceptional cutouts on the sides. The chest is a very sculptural survivor in fair to good condition, with drawer lip damage as well as face damage to the bottom drawer. The drawers never had brasses. 18th century, New England.

Tiger maple corner cupboard. The top section of this magnificent corner cupboard sports a strong cornice above two glass doors, each with eight panes of old, wavy glass. The doors open onto a red-painted interior with three nicely shaped shelves. The bottom section sports three small drawers flanked by two fake drawer fronts that can be removed to reveal hidden compartments. Below them are two paneled doors supported by a backet base. The cupboard is in excellent condition, with exceptionally strong tiger striping. The brass hardware has been replaced. Circa 1810-1830, Pennsylvania.

Country store bin, pine. The store bin sports a scrubbed top, shaped ends, and four divided storage bins in front covered with sliding retractable lids painted “Barley”, “Pepper”, “Sundries” and “Salt” on a brown background. The wide top is great for display and the bins provide a large amount of storage. We used this bin as a room divider in our home for several years before offering it for sale. The bin is in very good condition, with only the expected paint wear and other minor defects from age and usage. All in all, a fabulous piece of Americana. Mid-19th century, American.
