Embroidered sampler, cross-stitched silk on linen. The sampler depicts a large white house at the bottom flanked with cypress-like trees, a large white bird on the left, a rooster on the right, and a small cat on either side. Above the house in the inscription, “Ann Heisler’s work wrought/in the 9 year of her age/1819”. The sampler is in a modern frame and is in good condition, with wear consistent with age.
