Framed embroidered still life, wool on (probably) cotton. The picture is of a footed vase of flowers with a red drapery above. The vase is decorated with the head of a black bird and a band of stars. The flowers are red, white and lavender. The background is worked in several shades of purple, lavender, gray and cream. The still life is a very unusual piece of folk art embroidery and is in very good condition. Mid-19th century.
