Exceptional early pewter cupboard, pine. The cupboard boasts very beautiful scalloping on the sides with lollipops below, cupid’s bow cutouts at the bottom, plate rails and plate grooves, (triple plate grooves on the lower shelf), and wide backboards. It has an old, warm finish and would make a strong statement wherever it is placed. This cupboard is of a type that was likely used in a roadside tavern. It is in very good condition, with minor restoration and a small missing piece of the cornice on the rear right side. Mid-18th century, New England.
