An exceptional Windsor bow-back settee. The settee sports a second Windsor green, (bottle green), paint over the original green-black paint. It features attractively shaped spindles, graceful arms, a one-board plank seat with legs mortised through for extra stability, bamboo turnings on the legs and attractive “H” stretchers with bulbous turnings. The settee has an old repair to the bow and the feet have been extended about 3". A very graceful and elegant piece, it is also sturdy and suitable for everyday use. Circa 1790-1800, New England.
