William & Mary painted lift-top blanket chest, pine. The chest sports two false drawers over two real drawers, early moldings, snipe hinges, rose-headed nails, engraved brasses, and dramatically turned feet. The brasses on the bottom drawers are replaced. The chest is in very good condition, considering its age, with top moldings replaced and with wear on the back of the lid from the snipe hinges. A rare survivor! Circa 1740-1750, New England.
