Summer/winter woven coverlet, red wool and white cotton weave. The coverlet features a large flower and snowflake star field, with pea fowls and a double church house border. The sides and bottom sport a red wool fringe. The coverlet is signed by the maker at the corners, “Made by Thomas Marsteller, Lo[wer] Saucon, 1844”. Lower Saucon is located in Northampton County, PA. The coverlet is in very good condition, with light soiling and minor color bleeding toward the head end.
