Paint decorated night stand, pine. The stand has a rectangular one-board top over a single drawer raised on slender tapered legs. It sports a fanciful red and black painted surface and the original stamped-brass drawer pulls. It is in good overall condition, with a tight shrinkage separation on the top and some areas of water staining and paint wear. Circa 1820, probably Maine.
