Mid-18th century ladderback armchair. The chair is of an early form, with five slats, sausage turned stretchers, (including medial arm stretchers), scrolled arms, very attractive turnings and excellent finials. This is a handsome large chair with a good rush seat. The rear feet and one of the front feet have been extended, not surprising given the age of the chair. Otherwise the chair is in excellent condition, ready for use. Circa 1750-1760, Connecticut.
