Exceptional two-part linen press, poplar. The top section sports two doors with arched tombstone panels, original brass “H” hinges, fluted stiles and a very a very strong cornice. The bottom section sports two half-drawers over two full drawers with old brasses, supported by a Chippendale bracket base. The linen press is in very good condition, with some lip repairs, an age shrinkage separation on the right side and a replaced piece of cornice molding on that same side.. Last quarter of the 18th century, New Jersey, possibly made by Matthew Egerton.
