Landscape painting, “Winter on the Hudson”, o/c, unsigned. The painting shows young boys ice skating on a frozen tributary of the Hudson River with the river itself and a town on the opposite bank in the distance. The painting is in very good condition, having been professionally conserved but not relined. The gold leaf frame is original but has some damage. The canvas bears a stamp on the back, "S.N. Dodges/Artist and Painters/Supply Store/189 Chambers Street/Off Oliver St./N. York." 19th century, probably New York State.
