Outstanding Hudson Valley landscape painting, oil on canvas, unsigned. The painting depicts a woman looking out over a mountainous landscape while her children pick flowers behind her. A number of cows and sheep are also visible in the foreground. The scene is of Dover Plains, NY, after a painting by Asher Durand, now at the Smithsonian. The painting is framed in a period rippled gold leaf frame and is in excellent condition, having been professionally conserved. Circa 1850, Hudson River School.
