Naïve Hudson Valley landscape painting, o/c, unsigned. The scene is of a mother and two children looking across a field at the Hudson River and the Hudson Highlands in the distance. The painting is after Jasper Cropsey’s “American Harvest”, but with the haying scene in that painting omitted. It is in an exceptional gold leaf frame and is in excellent condition, having been professionally conserved with only scattered inpainting seen under black light. Circa 1855, Hudson River School.
