The fractur is decorated with a crossed-legged angel flanked by two large flowers, with pots of vines along the sides and circular flowers across the bottom. It is dated 1813 and was done in Bern Township, Berks County, PA. The fractur has minor imperfections, and was professionally conserved and framed in a period gold leaf frame.
This fractur was done by the “cross-legged angel artist”, active 1791-1822. An identical fractur by that artist was sold at a Skinner’s Auction in August 2015 for a price of $4,920.
