An excellent early two-part open-top pewter cupboard, pine. The cupboard boasts a beautiful counter-top with a pronounced molded edge, and raised panel doors with "H" hinges in the lower section opening to a large storage area with shelves, (Note: The missing door pull in the photos has been replaced with a close match.) Other features include a strong cornice and wide backboards fastened with hand-forged rose-headed nails. The open top provides excellent display, enhanced by plate grooves on the shelves. The cupboard is in very good condition, marred only by a minor repair to one end of the cornice and the expected wear and tear from age and usage. Circa 1760-1770, New England.
