Rare early 18th century pewter cupboard, pine. The cupboard sports scalloped sides, plate grooves on the shelves, large hand-forged rose-headed nails, original “H” hinges, and a desirable form of a single door in the base. It is all original, without any repairs or restoration, save for a few small patches on the scalloped sides. A museum quality piece! Early 18th century, New England.
Provenance: From the Helen Murphy Prentis collection, exhibited at the New Hampshire Historical Society in one of four rooms furnished in the finest tradition of the period from 1680-1730.
