Exceptional Chinese blue and white porcelain tulip vase dating from the late Qing Dynasty. Modeled like five adjoining baluster vases, this vase is decorated with a floral motif. The body has five apertures and a tall central stem with a garlic bulb top. The vase is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is no maker’s mark. Late 19th century.
Tulip vases were made for the Dutch market where they adorned rooms in wealthy houses as vessels to display rare and exotic flowers
