Naive pastel of a farm scene, with a farmhouse, barns, people and animals, bright colors, excellent condition. Note the charmingly tiny scale of the people in the rowboats and the outsized hats on the women. The attractive frame is original, and has a label on the back from Montpelier, VT, dated August 8, 1857. This is a truly outstanding example of 19th century American folk art.
