Calligraphy

An exceptional well-executed calligraphy, drawn in blue ink.

The calligraphy features a large eagle, a peacock, a pair of doves, a rooster, a stylized swan and a fish. Also attached are several calling cards, probably the work of the artist or perhaps of his students.

The calligraphy dates from circa 1865-1875, and is in its original period frame. It is truly an exceptionally beautiful drawing to which the photos do not do justice.

The condition of the calligraphy is excellent. There are no creases or tears. The only blemish is a small water stain in the lower left-hand corner. The lighter/darker areas in the photos are due to reflections off the glass in the frame.
